Historical Event on 6/9/1964
Lal Bahadur Shastri became the second Prime Minister of India when the country was shocked of Jawaharlal Nehru's death and Indo-China war. Shastri gave the quotation ""Jai Jawan Jai Kisan"" which motivated the war-affected Indians to boost their morale. He remained in this office till he died on January 11, 1966 at Taskent. In his cabinet, Indira Gandhi served as Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

7/12/1999	Rajendra Kumar (71), legendary actor who acted in over 150 Hindi films, died in Mumbai.
9/18/1917	Sher Singh, educationist and politician, was born at Baghpur (Haryana).
12/23/1902	Chaudhary Charan Singh was born at Noopur village in Hapur Tehsil near Meerut. He was a freedom fighter and had done many deeds for upliftment of Agriculture in India. He was the Prime Minister of India from July 1979 to January 1980.
5/3/1765	Clive became Governor of Bengal for second time from England after he returned to Calcutta.
